Welcome Home Abel

Here's the video you've all been waiting for. Dean's brother Dave did all the recording, and discovered it's hard to get short kids AND adult faces in the video at the same time. LOL My favorite part of the entire video is when Abel gave Asher a hug. After having the day to observe them now, we're pretty sure Abel remembers Asher from their time in the institution.

The video starts out with everyone in the house waiting for us to arrive. Enjoy!

  1. Congratulations to Mom, Dad, Angela, Adelaide, Asher and your adult sons for gaining a brother!

Huge congratulations to sweet Abel for joining such a wonderful family! What a blessed and lucky young man to be given such a loving home!

I do love seeing how charming and kind your children are. What delight was shown on Angela and Adelaide the entire time! Then, your worried Asher, poor guy, he looked so nervous yet as soon as your boys recognized each other, oh the hugs, and how happy Abel looked to know a friend!

I fully see why you can't usurp Asher's hold for youngest.

Thank you for all your work as a family to make sure you can use what God taught you via sweet Angela to help these boys.

I'd love to email you about adopting from Serbia, if you'd not mind. I feel we are being lead to adopt again - the asking, almost begging for a younger sister, my always practical husband back to his research on current adoption protocols and laws in various countries, the recent blessing of a larger van. So, I think it's my turn to step up to bat. We're open to CP, SB, seizures and deafness currently, but the child God plants in our heart will be true and perfect.

  2. I love that Abel recognized Asher!!! And Asher was NOT gonna let Mama go!! :) SO happy for all of you!!

  3. Oh my gosh - I started crying twenty seconds into this video, and pretty much bawled for the whole rest of it lol

I don't know which I cried most over; the thought of how much your sons have missed out on during their time in the institutions, or how much love they are literally soaking up now that they have you and Dean and Angela. Each time one of your children ran into your and Dean's arms and you all planted kisses on their faces, I sobbed even harder.

Welcome home to your little man. He's one lucky boy!

Much love to you all, and again - thank you for sharing so much of your journey with us. Your four gorgeous children are all kinds of awesome xx

  4. Thanks so much for sharing! What a beautiful homecoming!!! Love the hugs too. :-) Congratulations to all of you!

  5. What an amazing moment captured on video!! You simply have the most beautiful family that is clearly so full of love! How much has Axel grown...he appears SO much taller. And sweet Asher, that little love bug. When you arrived, he was off camera for a moment...but then you see him wrapped around Dean. His sweetness takes my breath away. And our Angela, how amazing is she...all grown up! Abel is going to fit right in..what a beautiful boy he is! I want to hear more about how you know he recognizes Asher. That is incredible :). Lots of love and prayers from our family to yours as Abel adjusts in his loving new forever home.

  6. I apologize for the name typo! Axel for some reason is not liked by my auto correct.

  7. I loved watching all of your youngest kids interacting with you all and eachother. And its awesome Asher and Able knew eachother .

  8. Axel has grown so much! And is he talking now? I can't wait to see more of the budding relationship between Abel and Asher -- this might help Asher open up so much more, to have his old buddy with him. Angela looks all grown-up and together, such a lovely young lady!

Mega e-hugs to all of you! Hope everyone gets de-jetlagged soon!

  9. I just read through your whole trip. Abel is one smart cookie, and I'm sure he will really blossom in your home.

  10. Tears watching this. I love all the hugs, both from Asher, so happy his parents are home, and from Abel. Gosh, I just love homecoming videos!!! *sniff, sniff*
