Today I found out about one of the institutions Axel spent two or three of his years. It was one of the worst in this country, and has been investigated by MDRI. In August, when he turned 10 years old, he was supposed to go to a similar facility. Instead he is now sitting in a hotel room with me, smelling fresh after a shower, all warm and cozy in new pajamas and tucked into bed. He has a mama who loves him, and a papa and brothers and sister waiting to meet him. It all happened because people chose to stand with us, and help us bear the weight of Axel's cross.
Fellow blogger Traci has a letter to orphans on her blog. I dare you to read it, then sit back and do nothing.
